The Ministry restates the State's standing policy of free and compulsory basic education in public schools, in line with the Universal Basic Education Act of 2004.
No head teacher, principal, teacher or Parent Teacher Association may charge a child for admission, for lessons, or for examinations in a public school. This applies equally to charges presented as voluntary contributions, development levies or examination handling fees.
Parents and guardians who are asked for money can report it through this website. A report can be made without naming the person making it, and a reference number is issued so the outcome can be followed up. Reports go to the Ministry, not to the school.
